I completed my work at the Royal Netherlands Air Force and the University of Twente a few years ago, which means I now have more time for new adventures.
Tennis is my biggest hobby, not only as a player but also as a club manager, tournament organizer, and occasionally as a trainer.
-As player, I’m playing Regionalliga West 65+ in Germany for Münster Mauritz and I am a regular participant in various ITF tournaments like the Amsterdam Master Open of last year.
-As member of the executive committee of Tennis Club Smash in Borne I am responsible for technical issues and also occasionally provide training at this club.
-As tournament organizer, I’m tournament leader of the Dutch National Tennis Championships for seniors 35+ indoor and outdoor in Hilversum as of 2017.
When I was asked to become tournament director of this ITF AMO at the beginning of this year, I immediately saw a nice new challenge. After consultation with various people directly involved I accepted this bid.
I am embarking on this sporting adventure together with Astrid van Oosterhout, who also is an experienced tournament organizer.
Together with our team of volunteers, we will do our utmost to provide all participants, partners, and spectators with an unforgettable week.
